New London (Connecticut) Ledge Light

It is not always easy to get a photograph of this lighthouse from land. It sits at the entrance to New London Harbor. The view is often obstructed by fog, rainy weather, or poor lighting. It has been automated since 1987.

It does look like its has a very nice "house" below and I imagine it must be the perfect spot to have alone time. They should open some kind of B&B there.

I LOVE it there. I had an aunt and uncle along with several cousins of course who lived in Deep River. He had a charter fishing boat and Aunt Donna would take me and her sons to the boat several times when Uncle Jimmy wasn't covered up with fisherman customers. What fun. Many times in New London and Old Lyme..all the surrounding area. A gorgeous State.
