Dominating the skyline, the Stykkishólmur church. Since a funeral was taking place, we were unable to visit this architectural landmark. View a video of the inside of the church here.

The church looks incredibly modern! And in such an ancient landscape.

Re your comment. I love brickwork too ... I guess because bricks are from clay and clay is a from the earth. I like to have my feet firmly planted on the ground. I am not a cruise person.
