Prince Christian Sund, continued

This is an area where the glaciers emerging from Greenland (which has approximately 90% permanent ice cover), calve icebergs. The scenery is quite spectacular. The iceberg you see below is the first of many we saw in the Greenland area. (Click on the photo twice to get a closer view.)

Those glaciers are quite amazing, aren't they? I've only see the ones in New Zealand but there were pretty spectacular too.

Tracey, I agree. When you think of all the ice cover in Greenland, it is mindboggling. There was a recent article in National Geographic about the recent enviornmental effects on Greenland's ice. It is very interesting.
