We have lots of martello towers in our city and in the area, though they're slightly different. Still round, of course, with deep moats around them! (One in our city is open to tourists in the spring/summer, but not the others--in too much disrepair, we surmise.)

We have a martello tower in the town of Fort Beaufort... about 130 odd kilometers from the coast. One of I think only two in the world that isn't found on the coast.
