Returning to Qaqortoq, traveling eastward, we found a lot of icebergs in the harbor and nearby areas which weren't there on our westward journey. The temperature was a lot cooler, too.
There was a girl kayaking around a small iceberg in the harbour when we were there in 2005 - I was only there a few hours but totally fell in love with the place. My photos are at http://www.geraldengland.co.uk/qaq/index.htm
Thank you for leaving a comment. I always try to post a comment on your blog, but am having problems with some of the blogs accepting my comments. (My own blog will not allow me to comment.) Hoping this is resolved soon.
Icebergs are they OK for this time of the year? Or is it global warming result?
ReplyDeleteFrightening, but great photos.
Actually, I took the photos in July. (Just now posting in November....) It's much colder in Greenland today.

I've only seen a few small icebergs (from a glacier in Patagonia). This one has a very cool shape.
